Rebellion Coma
Here's what really happens when you stop drinking caffeine... Your body rebells by putting you into a coma. A Rebellion Coma. It's a science fact.
There's something called adenosine that is released into your brain to make you sleepy. Caffeine and Adenosine get along really well and cancel each other out. This is why caffeine keeps you awake, it doesn't allow your brain to tell itself that you're tired.
When you quit drinking caffeine, your body keeps producing excess adenosine... which puts you to sleep.
I slept for 12 hours last night.
I had dinner, a veggie burrito, and I was fully prepared to blog about it. I found myself nodding off watching television (BBCs Kingdom)... before I knew it I was completely asleep in my chair.
I felt like I was 80 years old. I felt like all my friends who can't stay up past 10pm on a weekend. (I'll not point fingers in any general direction here. So don't worry Bethany and Blazegrenade.)
I experienced the exact same phenomenon when I quit smoking. It's a fact amongst people who has quit smoking that you go through a detox period that make you sleepy. Your brain during detox chemistry may as well have been concocted by Hasbro.
There are drums, cymbals and a piano chugging in the back of my brain, no doubt background music to my detox.
I will blog later tonight.
Random thought: I should get a rice cooker and a bread maker.
